The land originally housed Bowen Bruere Hospital, established on 12 March 1955 by Methodist Church missionaries. After its closure, the region lacked adequate healthcare facilities. Recognizing this need, Community Development Trust transformed the site into a center dedicated to holistic healing and social service.
